About

About this archive

skyguitar.site is an independent archive written by Daniel Bellver, an amateur guitarist. It is not affiliated with Uli Jon Roth or UJR Sky Guitars, it sells no instruments and it brokers no purchases. It exists because almost everything you can read in Spanish about the Sky Guitars is either badly copied or simply made up.

What this site is

An archive about one very specific instrument: the Sky Guitar that Uli Jon Roth had built in 1983 and that is still being made today, by hand and to order.

It is not a store, it is not a news blog and it is not anyone’s official website. It is what the internet used to call a fan page, written with the care of an archive: every claim with its source, every contradiction on the table and every date in plain sight.

Why it exists

Because the material in Spanish about the Sky Guitars is bad. Not bad as in debatable: bad as in wrong. Machine translations of the official site, figures copied from one forum to another without being checked and, since 2026, AI-generated buying guides that invent prices of three hundred dollars for an instrument that costs twelve thousand at the very least.

The most frequently asked question about this guitar — how many frets it has — has been answered wrongly for twenty years, because the correct answer is an uncomfortable one: it depends on the model, and the sources do not agree. That is explained on the page devoted to the frets, which is the reason all of this exists.

Who writes it

Daniel Bellver, an amateur guitarist. The domain has been his since 2020, when he published the first version of the site on WordPress. This version, rebuilt from scratch, replaces that one.

He does not work for the maker, does not receive instruments or compensation from anyone, and does not make money from these pages: there is no advertising, no affiliate links and no sponsorship.

How things are done here

Nothing without a source. At the bottom of every page there is a list of sources with direct links. If a fact cannot be linked to somewhere, it is not published.

Contradictions are spelled out. When the official site says one thing and Wikipedia another — which happens more often than you would think — both appear with their origin. The prettier version does not get chosen.

Prices carry a date. These are handmade instruments built to order, and the price changes without notice. Any amount that appears here says when it was checked, and the amount that counts is always the one on the maker’s website.

What goes out of date gets flagged. Tour dates, courses and catalogs carry a visible notice. A page with old data presented as current does more harm than a page that does not exist.

Photos, plainly stated. The photographs illustrating these pages come from the official website, sky-guitars.com. Since October 24, 2026, they have been used by decision of this archive’s author, always with a visible credit and a note of the source. They are under their authors’ copyright and this site holds no license for them: a written request for permission to UJR Sky Guitars is still pending. If the maker or a photographer asks for an image to be taken down, it will be. No watermarked agency photos or images from other websites are used, and when a photograph has a named author, that author is credited.

What you will NOT find here

  • Resale prices presented as appraisals, or investment advice.
  • Order forms or anything resembling a purchase: this site does not sell.
  • The original 1976 cover of Virgin Killer, which is legally problematic material in Spain and in most countries. The album is discussed as a musical work; that image is not reproduced in any format.
  • Content translated wholesale from the official site. Whatever is quoted is quoted briefly, in quotation marks and with a link.

If you are the maker or the artist

If you represent UJR Sky Guitars or Uli Jon Roth and something on this site seems wrong to you, or you would rather an image or a quote were removed, write to the address in the legal notice (in Spanish) and it will be dealt with, no argument. This archive exists out of admiration for the instrument, not to compete with anyone or to confuse anyone.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the official Sky Guitars website?

No. The maker's official site is sky-guitars.com and the musician's is ulijonroth.com. skyguitar.site is an independent site made by an enthusiast, with no connection to either of them, and it cannot handle orders, price quotes or sales inquiries of any kind on their behalf.

Do you sell Sky Guitars, or can you get hold of one?

No. This site does not sell instruments, does not broker sales and has no contact with the maker. New Sky Guitars can only be ordered at sky-guitars.com, which describes itself as the only official place in the world to order them. Any offer claiming to represent us is fake.

How are the facts on this site checked?

Every page lists its sources at the bottom, with direct links. Facts are taken from the maker's official site, the artist's official biography, Wikipedia and Wikidata, and interviews published in the music press. When two sources contradict each other, both versions are given.

Why do some pages say a figure is disputed?

Because it is. The fret count of the first Sky Guitar and the number of units in the edition distributed through Dean change depending on which source you consult. Instead of choosing whichever figure sounds best, this site gives all of them with their origin so you can judge for yourself.

I've spotted a mistake. How do I report it?

Write to the contact address in the legal notice, giving the page and the fact in question. If you include a source that backs it up, the correction is made and reflected in that page's update date. Documented errors get corrected; opinions are happily debated.
